Athlete Code of Conduct

ELITE PREP ATHLETE CODE OF CONDUCT
Purpose
As a member of Elite Prep, every student-athlete is expected to uphold the highest standards ofcharacter, discipline, and excellence—on and off the court. Participation is a privilege and requires full commitment to the program’s values of respect, accountability, leadership, and integrity.

1. General Expectations
-Athletes represent Elite Prep at all times in the classroom, team homes, on the court, online, and in the community.
-Conduct must reflect discipline, maturity, and respect.
- All school, team, and league policies must be followed.

2. Use of Pictures, Media & Social Media
- Team photos, videos, and highlights may be used by Elite Prep for promotion and marketing.
- Athletes must receive approval before posting team-related content involving teammates, staff, or facilities.
- Inappropriate, vulgar, or disrespectful posts are strictly prohibited.
-Parents/guardians grant permission for use of team-related media.

3. Respect & Conduct
- Respect must be shown to coaches, teammates, officials, opponents, staff, host families, and facilities.
- No arguing with coaches or referees.
- Bullying, hazing, intimidation, threats, or verbal/physical abuse will not be tolerated.
- Athletes must demonstrate sportsmanship in both victory and defeat.

4. Attendance Requirements
- Attendance is mandatory for all practices, study hall, tutoring, games, meetings, and team events.
- Excused absences include illness, injury, family emergencies, or approved school commitments (must be communicated in advance).
- Unexcused absences may result in reduced playing time, conditioning requirements, suspension, or dismissal from the program.
- Chronic tardiness will be treated as a disciplinary issue.
5. Academic Commitment
- Athletes must remain in good academic standing at all times.
- Required tutoring, study hall, or classroom support must be attended consistently.
- Classroom behavior must reflect focus, respect, and effort.

6. Team Travel & Dress Code
- Athletes must wear assigned team travel gear when traveling to and from events.
- Curfews during travel and tournaments must be followed.
- Athletes are responsible for all personal and team-issued items.
- Disrespectful behavior in hotels, vans, host homes, or facilities will result in disciplinary action.

7. Health, Safety & Substance Policy
- Injuries or health concerns must be reported immediately.
- Proper nutrition, hydration, sleep, and recovery are expected.
- There is a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy for drugs, alcohol, vaping, tobacco, or performance-enhancing substances.
- Elite Prep reserves the right to drug test any athlete at any time—randomly or when suspicion of use exists.
- Refusal to test will be treated as a positive result.

8. Discipline & Consequences
Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- Verbal or written warnings
- Parent meetings
- Loss of playing time
- Extra conditioning
- Suspension
- Removal from the program
Coaches and administration reserve the right to determine appropriate consequences based on severity.
